Prosperity Splash  RM18++
Mix and match from Pineapple, Lemon, Dragon Fruits, Tangerine fresh juice. The drinks was special created by the team. Glad to say that the drink was very refreshing and I hope I can get another one of its. I am sure that you will be splashed with prosperity and fortune after drinking this fruit juice which contained in a big whole "Ong Lai".
Check out Checkers Cafe's fabulous spread of New Year specialties specially put together by their team of talented chefs for an unforgettable Lunar New Year celebration together with family and friends. Below this are the signature dishes where will be a part of CNY buffet items.
Salmon Yee Sang (With Crispy Salmon Skin)
Colourful ingredients in the plate, the Yee Sang becomes more tempted by putting in fresh salmon slices and crispy salmon fish skin. I bet many people will still love to have this kind of traditional styled Yee Sang, despite many creative new style Yee Sang are in the market now. You know why? Most of the Chinese like to have "fish" on their dining table during new year to denote the year ahead will be more than contented.
Tossing it in the air!

Pan-Fried Lamb Rack with Chef Special Sauce

This is one of the signature dish from the chef.  We were told that the lamb was marinated overnight,  so you would not get irritated by the smell of mutton. It tastes like "Char Siew", with not excessive sweetness. The lamb rack was pan-fried just right, not overcooked and the meat is unexpectedly tender.
Braised Shark's Fin with Assorted Seafood
A luxurious soup which is preferred by most of the Chinese during Chinese New Year,  comprised with shark's fin, dried scallop, and sea cucumber.
Steamed Chicken with Herbs
Recent years, most of the people tends to have a healthy lifestyle  and choose to have steamed chicken instead of roasted or fried chicken. Checkers Cafe serves the steamed chicken too, with additional herbs. The chicken is smooth, and full with the fragrance of herbs.
Deep Fried Cod Fish with Superior Soya Sauce
A very big portion of cod fish, which had been deep-fried and cooked with superior soy sauce. The deep-fried method is allowing the cod fish coated with crispy and crunchy,  while still retain the moist texture of the fish inside.
Deep Fried Prawns with Seafood sauce
Big prawns are always popular on the dining table during Chinese New Year. It is not exceptional in Checkers Cafe too. The prawns were cooked using seafood sauce, which give you double shoot of the seafood flavour. I am not so demanding on the prawn, as long as it's not overcooked and retains the springy texture,  and this deep-fried prawns were just right and suit my appetite.
Braised Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber, Dried Oyster
and Black Mushroom with seasonal vegetable
I noticed that broccoli is also one of the favourite green on New Year dining table too. In Checkers Cafe, it is served with sea treasures and black mushroom. I especially like the sea cucumber, which is very fresh and springy, feels like wanna have a dance with it. lol.
Fried Rice with Ginger and Salted Egg
Double eggs in this fried rice-chicken egg and salted egg.
Steamed Nian Gao and Sesame Glutinous Rice Ball
Nian Gao seems to be a compulsory food during Chinese New Year,  a blessing to children to grow taller and healthier,  to people who work to get promoting.
Sweetened Red Bean Paste
I am not a sweet tooth,  but the sweetened red bean paste and the sesame seeds ball are really impressed. The red bean paste was grinded by the chef himself until smooth in texture. The golden sesame seed balls are great too, very chewy and not too sweet.
