Chee Cheong Fun Stall @ Jalan SS2/66 , PJ

Chee Cheong Fun Stall @ Jalan SS2/66

This was an unexpected dinner. Why? Today, i suppose to 'lock' myself in my tiny room to control my eating volume, because I already had a lot of food since last weekend. However, plan remain plan. Its was fail seriously and i go out for this Chee Cheong Fun stall which I always pass-by and never try it. This stall is well-known among SS2-ian. Everytime I pass-by, there were always a crowd in front of this stall and full-house.
In 1983, the late Khoo Hoi Thiam and his wife Mook Chin started selling home-cooked economy fried noodles at the backlane. When business grew, they introduced chee cheong fun and moved to where the stall stands today. Mook Chin prepares the yong tau fu, sauces and sweet chinese dessert, with second son Chin Seong assisting her. The chee cheong fun used here is sourced from Ipoh and the Anson chee cheong fun from Teluk Intan.  Sources from Rasarasa.net

Self-service method
Chee Cheong Fun and Curry Noodles
Chee Cheong Fun  RM4.00 ( 80sen per piece)
This type chee cheong fun is from Ipoh style. Beside this, they also have serve Teluk Intan chee cheong fun which selling at RM2 per piece. However on my own taste, i still prefer the Ipoh chee cheong fun rather than Teluk Intan chee cheong fun. The different make is the homemade sauce which a mixture of sweet sauce, oyster sauce and garlic oil. Taste better.
Curry Noodles (Small)  RM4.30
Although I order small bowl of this curry noodles, but its cause me full because of the generous on ingredients.
Its comes with cockles, deep fried pig skin, foo chuk, long beans and tau pok. For the curry taste is light and slightly spicy (added their homemade spicy sauce).
I catch this scene while i having this nice bowl of curry noodles and chee cheong fun!

Beside selling chee cheong fun, yong taufu and curry noodles, they also have 'thong sui' Chinese dessert. It's rotating everyday from red bean soup, green bean soup, mak chuk (wheat porridge) and foo chuk yee mai (soybean skin and barley).  Not bad!
