Freshly Made Puchong Yong Tau Fu @ Batu 14, Kampung Baru Puchong, Puchong

Freshly Made Puchong Yong Tau Fu @ Batu 14, Kampung Baru Puchong

On the previous post, I actually said that the mother of Yong Tau Fu was from Ampang. However, there are many attempts from other Yong Tau Fu stalls around the country to do variations and improvements to get over Ampang one. I get to know this Puchong Yong Tau Foo from one of the Singapore TV show. They feature up for their daily fresh made Yong Tau Fu on-the-spot, which means that you can pick up any tau fu and vegetables from the table, and your selection of tau fu and vegetables will be stuffed immediately before served on your table.

This place is kindly hidden and have less landmark compare to other place. Its located at the area of Puchong New Village. Situated at a junction connecting Jalan Puchong Batu 14 and Jalan Tembusu, opposite of a primary school SK Puchong.

Various choices-- Fu Zhok, Tau Bok, bitter gourd, eggplant, chilies, lady fingers and many others.
Put your choices into the colourful basket and proceed to next station.
Hand in your selection to any waiter there, they will ask if you need any extra fish balls or fried dumplings.
Stuff in the fresh fish paste on the spot after placed the order.
Deep Fried version of Yong Tau Fu
Was served piping hot from the kitchen. Crispy and crunchy, even nicer to dip in some their special made sweet sauce or chili sauce, or to be extra special to mix two up.
Yong Tau Fu soup version
Don't underrate this soup version ya, although the soup broth looks clear, indeed it is very powerful after you taste it. The leaves of pucuk manis give extra sweetness to the soup. As you could see by your naked eyes on the picture above, the kitchen actually very generous in stuffing big portion of fish paste. Very filling and a satisfactory one.
Every pieces of Yong Tau Fu cost RM1.20/piece
Wan Zhai Kao RM1.20
Besides normal white rice, they also provide chee cheong fan, curry mee, dried mee and this "wan zhai kao", a famous street dish from southern Malaysia. The wan zai kao is made from rice flour, just like a steam version of cai tau kueh, served with pickled radish and the sweet sauce. Surprise to find this street food in KL.
Paper Wrapped Chicken RM3.60
As many other Yong Tau Fu in Ampang and Serdang did, Puchong Yong Tau Fu also provides wrapped chicken. The taste is not much different from Ampang and Serdang's. Ginger, sesame oil and oyster sauce play the main role. Good to go with white rice as it is quite juicy.
